Demand forecasting for independent retailers

Know what will sell next week.

Tallis reads your sales history and predicts what each product will sell in the coming week. It suggests what to reorder and flags stock that is not moving. Made for independent shops with 50 to 5,000 products.

  • No card needed
  • First forecast in about 20 minutes

01 History

Your sales history, read and tidied.

Upload a CSV from your till or connect it read-only. Tallis lays out every week you have sold, then removes the noise: sale weeks, closures and days when a product sold out.

  • Imports two years of sales in about 20 minutes
  • Marks sale weeks and stock-outs so they do not skew the numbers
  • Works from the data you already export
Units sold per week over the last 12 weeks, and next week's forecast.

02 Forecast

Next week, with a range.

Every product gets a forecast for the days ahead and a band showing how sure Tallis is. A narrow band means order with confidence. A wide band means order less and look again in a few days.

  • Daily forecasts up to four weeks ahead
  • Counts holidays, seasons and events you add
  • Tracks its own accuracy for each product
Weekly demand for one product: history, forecast and the range it is likely to fall in.

03 Stock

Slow stock, flagged early.

Each shelf line gets a reorder suggestion and a stock cover figure in weeks. Lines that will not sell through before the next delivery are marked, so you can discount, bundle or stop reordering in time.

  • A reorder list ready every Monday morning
  • Supplier lead times and minimum orders included
  • Slow lines ranked by cash tied up
Highlighted cells are lines that will not sell through before the next delivery.

+ And the rest

Small things that save a Monday.

  • Supplier lead times

Reorder dates count back from each supplier's delivery time and minimum order, so the list is ready to send.

  • Promotion planner

Add a sale or an event. Tallis shows the extra units to expect and the quiet week that follows.

  • More than one shop

Forecast each location on its own, or see every shop in a single reorder list.

  • Stock-out repair

Days when a product sold out are filled in, so an empty shelf is not mistaken for low demand.

  • Monday digest

One email each Monday: what to order, what to discount and what changed since last week.

  • Your data stays yours

Export every number as CSV at any time. We do not sell or share your sales data.

3 Steps

From a spreadsheet to an order in one afternoon.

  1. Connect your sales

Upload a CSV export from your till or connect it with a read-only key. Tallis reads your history and checks it for gaps.

    About 20 minutes

  2. Check the forecast

Each product shows next week's units and a range. Open a line to see which weeks it used, and correct anything you know better.

    About 10 minutes

  3. Send the order

Approve the reorder list and send it to your suppliers as a file or an email. Next week Tallis compares its forecast with what sold.

What shop owners say.

We cut dead stock by a third in the first quarter. The slow-stock list is the first thing I open on Monday.

Imogen ValeOwner, Thistle & Twine

The range matters more than the number. When it is wide I order less and check again on Thursday.

Tomas ReiterBuyer, Marrow & Co.

Setup took one lunch break. The first forecast was within 6 percent on our top twenty lines.

? Questions

Before you start.

Something else? Write to hello@tallis.example and a person will answer.

What data does Tallis need?

Sales by product and date, from any till that exports to CSV. Stock levels and supplier details are optional, but with them the reorder list can name quantities and dates.

How accurate are the forecasts?

It depends on how much history you have and how steady your range is. Tallis shows how often it was right for each product, so you can see where to trust it and where to keep your own judgement. Shops with a year or more of sales get the best results.

Does it work with my till?

If your till can export sales to a CSV file, yes. Read-only connections are available for some tills, and the list grows each month. We will tell you before you start if yours is not supported.

Can I try it before I pay?

Every plan includes 14 days free, with no card needed. You can upload your own sales and read real forecasts straight away.

What happens to my data if I leave?

Export it all as CSV whenever you like. If you close your account we delete your sales data within 30 days and tell you when it is done.
